Default Thanks to all of you!

Hi and thanks to everyone, particularly to John, Dan and Marc! Sono molto felice, I'm very happy, to know that I've new and great friends in this forum!
To Dan and Marc: have you Italian origins or your parents/relatives?
I'm from Calabria, South Italy, near Sicily. I own a sleep products specialty shop (mattresses, pillows, slats, duvets...), I'm a marketing/advertsiing raving fan, I've invested more than $10,000 in books, courses, dvds, etc, by Carlton, Makepeace, Halbert, Kennedy, Glazer, Newton, Abraham, Bedell, Schwartz ...
I've collected many direct response pieces from mattresses companies like Tempur-pedic, Duxiana, Select Comfort, that are today's heavy direct response advertisers in my field. Does anybody here has some pieces for the sleep/mattresses/back-neck pain niche (direct mail, lead generation ads, magalog,...)?
I've tried to upload here some rare direct response ads from my personal swipe-file, but the pdf files I've are too big, I'm sorry...

Looking for your replies,
ciao a tutti paisà!

Ciao!

No, sono Irlandese-Americano. Mi piaciono molte le gente italiani. Estudiato a la mia casa con cassette e libri. Mi manca la practica. Andato a Italia due volte. Che bella.

Nope, Irish-American (My people have been here 6 generations so basically I'm an American mutt.) I like the Italians. I studied the language at home with books and cassettes. I lack practice. I went to Italy twice. Beautiful country.

Anyways, always fun chatting.

I don't have a thing that's from your business. I will say you have to get Million Dollar Mailings (Denison Hatch?) and The World's Greatest Direct Mail Letters of All Time (Richard S. Hodgson) Add to that Robert Collier Letter Book...that's probably the best for your business. Tons of great merchandising letters.

All the best,

Dan

Default Che bello!

Ciao Dan, complimenti per il tuo italiano! Qualche piccolo sforzo in più e sarai perfetto!

Hi Dan, congratulations for your Italian! A bit more of practice and you'll perfect!

Have you been in Italy 2 times? Where? Yes, you're right, Italy is a very beautiful country.

Thanks for your advices, I already got Richard Hodgson's and Collier's books, I've tried many times to buy the Gordon-Lewis's one but it always costs too much ($300-$400).

However, I think the best examples for my business are those by the today's biggest companies: they spend millions of $$$ for their advertising, so I surely can learn a lot from them, what works and what doesn't work in this field.

Hope somebody can help me here, I'm sure that the sleep well/insomnia/back-neck pain niche has been worked on by many supplements companies, I could get great suggestions.

Wishing a wonderful weekend to everybody in this forum!
Saluti dall'Italia,
Marco.

John I've just tried clicking on your swipe file links but none of them open up in my browser - any clues?

Thanks...

Senen

Hi Senen,

I don't know why your browser isn't showing them. But the files are large so you may be better off downloading them to view. Just right click on the link and select 'save as'.

Hopefully that works for ya,
John

John - thanks very much for sharing these, I especially valued the "medicines hushed up" one.

It would be great to get more of these, as I've had a hard time finding magalog swipes, and they have a lot of value to share.

Thanks,

Ken

Marco,

My father's parents were from Abruzzi, and my mother's parents were from Sicily. My parents were both born in New York State and I was born here in California. I haven't been to Italy yet but am very excited to visit someday soon.

Wish I had some direct mail pieces to share with you in your industry that would enhance your collection, but I don't. Will keep an eye out though

Marc
